Summer is a great time to improve on your instrument and rise up to the next level of performance. We have an exciting opportunity for band students over the summer: the Concord-Carlisle Summer Band at CCHS (run by Concord and Carlisle instrumental music faculty).
The Concord-Carlisle Summer Band is a low-cost, low-commitment, summer program that meets at CCHS. The ensemble is open to all elementary and middle school band students in Concord and Carlisle with at least one year of experience. Students may participate in a traditional concert band as well as a jazz workshop. Additional ensembles may be added as the program grows.
Registration typically opens up shortly after April Vacation and is open until Summer Band begins.
Beginner Concert Band is for students with one or two years of experience in a school ensemble (i.e. students completing their first or second year of band at the end of this school year).
Intermediate Concert Band is for students with three or more years experience on their instrument in a school ensemble, through to students entering their sophomore year of high school. Some exceptions may be made for exceptional second year musicians.
The two concert bands are subject to enrollment. In the event that there are not enough students to form two bands, we will run one combined band - this has been the case over the past two years.
Jazz Workshop is for students interested in performing jazz music and building improvisation skills. Students should have at least two years of experience.
Tuesday and Wednesday
Registered students can participate in as much or as little of the program as they wish.
